Looking for web hosted shopping cart solution with recurring bill payment feature for sale of digital products

I have a client who wants his website visitors to pay for his articles. For example, a years payment would allow you access to his premium articles.

I need a solution where it supports recurring subscription payment

So I’m looking for a product that allows client to sell his digital product (articles) and collect payment for a year before he has to collect payment again for the next year.

Any suggestions for this?

I prefer a Web 2.0 solution not so much for the sake of the name of 2.0 but just because there have been some really cost effective 2.0 tools out there in the ecommerce world that has come along. But whatever works is also fine with me as well.

I had Miva shopping cart but my web host closed. Any ecommerce carts that don’t require special hosting?

I have a specilty oils and candles web site. I was hosting with a local provider who had Miva cart included with the web hosting plan. The webhost closed, went out of business with out notice. Luckily I have my domain but I lost everything else with my web site because it was all on the server. I am very frustrated and would like to restart my ecommerce web site, but I donot want to be held hostage by a web host ever again. I am looking for a ecommerce cart I can run on my own servers or host anywhere with no strings attached. Frustrated!!!

When you change merchant solution providers (web hosting), does your page rank reset?

I need to find a new web hosting provider and/or shopping cart service that allows my online store to accept payments in Canadian funds. If I change my web hosting company as well as my shopping cart provider will my page rank start from the beginning? Thanks! :)

My family has an online commerce site and when we switched from Microsoft BCentral as our host to another company out of Georgia out page ranks plummeted! We were in the top 5 on Google and Yahoo and it took about 2 weeks to optimize the new site and get our rankings back. We did not change anything drastically on the page, just some of the text and the look (color scheme, layout) of the site. We got a shopping cart that was much easier to use and had lots of other features like coupon codes and wish lists. And from my understanding the small changes we made actually helped us gain higher rankings after the initial switch over. Hope this helps! :)
