American Web Hosting

grade one american windows web hosting corporation?

i need to grade one windows web hosting
supported aspx 2 version and mysql
has dedicated ip
has hacker safe certificate or any certificate for example bbb online or geotrust and very important for me 24/7 realy suport by phone or email
and price no problem

aspx and mysql. I’d go with Php and Perl with MySql. ASP is nothing but a security risk. Of course, it would be a Linux system. Anything else is a security risk.

You will save a BOATLOAD of money if you go with uncertified Linux instead of a bogus overbloated, unsafe but certified Windows webhosting. (I can give you several first hand examples of some Windows server hacking that was supposed to be UNHACKABLE).

But I do like the options and responsiveness of Hostway. Just visit http://www.hostway.com Try calling their Tech Support right now, and see if you can TALK to someone.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

How can I get new clients for my Web hosting business?

I have been in the Web hosting industry for about 6 years (can’t believe its going to be the 6 year anniversary on the 11th… time sure does go by fast). Anyways the thing is that I have never been too serious about getting a lot of customers as I am now. I know Web hosting is a tough industry with a lot of competition but competition necessarily isn’t a bad thing from what I hear. I offer good prices and very good customer service and all of my current customers are very happy with the service that I offer. My question is.. What is the best way to get more clients? I don’t have a very big budget so I can’t go and advertise in a lot of places. Currently I get most of my clients through the world of mouth. I welcome all of your creative and new ideas. By the way my Website is http://pehosting.com

there is a saying “big companies offer products, small companies offer solutions” If 1and1 offers hosting then PEH has to offer tailor made website solutions from a to z … plus hosting.
If you offer just hosting, you better focus on some niche segments. Your target market are most likely to be web developers and site owners who look for some specific hosting features which are not offered by the big guys. In general, two things: be more specialized in your hosting offers (optimize for ‘customize your hosting’ or similar) and second provide complete solutions. Good venture.
p.s. the affiliate link at the bottom needs fix up

Video Web Hosting

Do I need ’special’ web hosting to run a video website?

Hi, I want to build my own video streaming site to present my video clips (I’m a videographer). It will be similar to MSN Video or YouTube, where I’ll have various of video categories and users can rate and comment. Right now I have hosting with GoDaddy; do I need special hosting to run a video site like this (it was mentioned to me that video streaming software needs to be installed on the server). Thanks in advance for your advice or recommendations.

Because it is sure that the videos uploaded by people would be much unorderly, then your site must contain a video to flash video (.flv) converter that can convert all kinds of video files which are uploaded by all customers to flash video (.flv) format file.

As far as I know, Adobe® Flash® Media Interactive Server 3 can complete these tasks if you can afford it. However I think there are plenty of other solutions to accomplish the same end goal.

You will need a flash video player maker to make a flash video player to play these flash video files.

To this point, Moyea Web Player Pro can do that.

It can create a web page named index.html embedded with a web video (flash video) player named mwplayer.swf with scrollable thumbnail playlist and customizable control bar, you can add as many videos to the playlist of the player as you like. And this tutorial is for this program: http://www.flash-video-mx.com/webplayer-resources/add-videos-to-website.html
